Menswear Spring/Summer 2011 Review

    Raf Simons

    Lanvin

    Alexis Mabille

    Juun.J

I look at the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection and my favourites were so different this collection. I usually veer towards particular colour palette, style or trend but this time all these collections caught my attention. A very interesting set of clothes from Raf Simons, clean cut and minimal. It reminds me a bit of male nurses which is not always a bad thing. Again, I fell for Lanvin, although Lanvin was not as impressive as all the other amazing collections in the past but there were sheer knits to paneled outerwear and chunky jewelery (following the footstep of Alber Elbaz). It was also refreshing to see more jewelery especially at Alexis Mabille where the models looked like they have been rolling in the summer Parisian garden. The tones were cream, beige and white accesorised with Tibetan wooden beads. The mixed of oversized outerwear vs. undersized models, relaxed knits and baby jumpsuits blew me away. The sun burnt skin was a nice finishing touch. Juun.J brought us to the future with drapery coats juxtaposed with tailored jackets in monochromatic tones. I loved the layering and the protective headgear which OBVIOUSLY everybody need. Which shows were your favourite?Source URL: https://naturalbellescloset.blogspot.com/2010/08/menswear-springsummer-2011-review.html
