Lanvin Fall/Winter 2011

Since I hate reading too much text, I'm just going to keep this very brief. Another beautiful collection from Lucas Ossendrijver, I love the fact that suits are not too "skinny" and actually becoming a lot looser and the trousers too are pleated, reminiscent of the 20's. These are the pick of the outfits I like from this collection. Check out more after the jump. PS: The designer has definitely had a mutual agreement that they are going to feature mustard yellow this season. I'm not complaining, mustard was my first favourite colour so I have a very nostalgic response to anything yellow.

I love Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2011 collection

Seasons after seasons, I am becoming increasing fond of Phillip Lim's menswear collection. There is something so appealing to me, the simplicity or maybe those wonderful taupe and mustard. I am in love with this collection, I can't wait to buy them especially those sunglasses and the sweater and the coats...

I think that he is so talented and I am happy also that he was originated from South-east asia and was born in Thailand. I cannot wait for next winter for these clothes. It is so cold outside right now which makes me yearn for these wonderful wintery clothes.

Fashion week seems to be pretty exciting, I haven't LOVE any collection yet except for this one, but maybe because I am still waiting for Lanvin to show! I want to see what Mr. Ossendrijver is going to show us next. And please, Dior Homme use to be one of my favourite but now the clothes are just so repetitive. Bring Hedi Slimane back.

Strand Young Boy, Gondeville, Charente, France 1951

There are something so intriguing about these old photographs that I can't quite put my finger on. Browsing through the school library after a long day, I found this very old book "The Art of Photography" which actually sounds quite cheesy but it obviously wasn't.
Anyway enough about the book, but these photographs inside, just look so raw, and I assume they use film as it was dated about 60-70 years ago. The most beautiful photographs I found were these one by an American photographer, Paul Strand who lived from 1890 to 1976. His photographs are photo-journalistic with real, raw feelings. I just fell in love with them and just couldn't stop looking at the expression on the boy's face and composition of the family in the second photos.

Strand The Family, Luzzara, Italy 1953

Strand Susan Thompson, Cape Split, Maine 1945

Nadar The Son of Auguste Lefranc c. 1855-65

All photos from The Art of Photography 1839-1989
In art, I am focusing on expressionism and portraits, working in series, so this was perfect and these are just so inspiring.Source URL: http://naturalbellescloset.blogspot.com/2011/01/

A greyhound at Trussardi Fall/Winter 2011

I haven't been writing much lately, but it is only because I am so busy with school and art and other things, taking up all my time. I want to take photos but it seems impossible to do so with my schedule at the moment. Anyway, fashion week is coming and I am very excited, I'll be in London for sure and hopefully, we'll get to see many wonderful, inspiring, things.

I love this by the way, the greyhound at Trussardi, the collection was good, but nothing that intrigued me too much, Prada however... The clothes seem to be pretty dark (opposite to the latest S/S collection) this season with some green and browns, the usually for winter, hopefully we will see something more exciting in Paris!!

The models has really cute haircuts and these clothes remind me abit of the 70's(again) and also Greg from "everybody hates Chris". But I feel like Prada is going to set the standard again. I love these oversized coats and I'm sure we are going to see more of these sort of coat during the next few week. So let start the coat search, it is still cold outside.Source URL: http://naturalbellescloset.blogspot.com/2011/01/
