Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011 Campaign| P. by Willy Vanderperre| Yannick Abrath

    © by Jil Sander

A wonderfully shot campaign with the collaboration of two very cool minimalist, Raf Simons for the Jil Sander collection and Willy Vanderperre for the photography. One of my favourite collection ever from Jil Sander(both menswear and women.) I am loving all the colour blocking, and in the womenswear, there are something very streetwear-couture about them. I know there has been many that says they dislike it but I think it is simply genius.

Some claim that the clothes look very Uniqlo which I partly agree but this campaign is sick! The stark white background in contrast with those saturated colours that almost looks like watercolour. The women campaign is also very cool.

wonderful things| Inspiration

Carine Roitfeld and Steven Klein. They are my favourite photographer and editor. Them together POW, amazing. She is apparently leaving French Vogue which is very sad but hopefully she will do something else great!

Kris Van Assche for Dior Homme. I have loved Dior Homme and Christian Dior for a long time now, not that I could afford much but I really appreciate the simplicity and of course the slim suit. Since Kris Van Assche was introduced, I am seeing a lot more drapes which I always love. Although I do miss Mr. Slimane.

Versace Campaign Spring/Summer 2011| January Jones| P. by Mario Testino

I have heard rumours that January Jones was going to be the new face of Versace (blonde + perfect body) but had no idea that she was going to appear nude! She looks incredible, she is one of the most beautiful actress out there. She reminds me of Grace Kelly in these photos. I am not a big fan of Versace but I must admit that I love this campaign and I love Mad Men. And Versace are very smart because they know that during this post period of recession, accessories sell best! Check out more photos!!!Click away!
Ps: You should watch Mad Men if you are not already, it is amazing!! - watch it just for the period feel even if it is not your type of show!

Acne Biker Leather Jacket

    © by ACNE

After trying on multiple biker jackets, I have been drawn to them which is a surprise since I don't usually go for these sort of thing (leather+black.) But last week when I went to check out the Lanvin summer collection, there weren't so many items since it was only the beginning of December but a leather jacket caught my eye, it was similar to the last season's leather coat. It was about £2100 which is too much for me. Then I came across this one from acne which is £475 which is perfect! I can't wait to try them on at the store when I get back to the UK. They come in black, navy and a cherry colour, I think I prefer the black but maybe the navy would be exciting.

White-Out In?

It was a haze of white flowy fabric on the Spring/Summer 2011 runway. From Alexander Wang beautiful, relaxed interpretation to the very preppy of Paul Smith. When summer comes in mind, I always think of colours but to be completely honest, my wardrobe is full of pale/off-whites and whites. There are so many things that is very obvious from this season runway like bright orange and sheer fabrics: We have been seeing a lot of boobs and moobs [man-boobs:)].
Alexander Wang show was inspired by "white-out." It is simple but still very slick and smart as always. The girls just look so polish surprisingly without any makeup. They have a very sporty feel to them which is what I like, the trousers almost look like tracksuits, the skin are very dewy and everything seem to be comfortable and practical but still chic.

The play on the white shirt is fantastic and don't they just look so cool with the glossy red lips? Victor and Rolf is known for being over the top and their "white shirt" concept is a great representation of their aesthetics. Ironic that they made something so simple, probably the most simple into something extravagant. The sharp cuts, lines and layers very much remind me of a marriage between cubism and minimalism. Which I love (again.) Check out Georges Braque and you'll understand.

Classic, classic, classic. Michael Kors is so classic and the clothes just look so comfortable, I love the ideas of light knitwears in the summer as I am always reaching for my cardigan. This is a great inspiration for people who loves the preppy, clean look. The combination of white, tan and pastelles is divine and you can't really go wrong.

Paul Smith WOMEN show; I would wear everything they are wearing here, the wool trousers, the buttoned-up shirt, the glasses, the pleats. It stills maintains the preppy-ness but now they have a new attitude, a younger one for a matter of fact. It is almost a punk but the kind that are more put together.Like punk in a wedding.

I like the clean-cut jackets with shorts but not so much the netting shirt (moobs alert). The sunglasses looks fun and perfect for summer. They just look really COOL. Thats all I can say. I need to check out General Idea, I have never seen them in person but they look great on the runway. They should get more attention!

Not sure about the clinical nurse open-bellied shirt but the tan sandals looks fantastic with the white. The shirt at the bottom look interesting, maybe some layering could duplicate this effect. I think I will be shopping in COS soon looking for the perfect white shirt which I am dying for.And PS: I'll take an oversized white tees and a pair of skinny jeans to a deserted island and maybe some sandals.Source URL: http://naturalbellescloset.blogspot.com/search/label/SS11

Man About Town| Christian Ochsenfahrt in Jil Sander by Raf Simons P. by Willy Vanderperre

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2011

Feminine and strong. Always what we expect from Alber Elbaz, The models look very beautiful in the light, flowy "Pleat Please"-esque gowns. Complimented with bold naturalistic jewellery. A very beautiful collection but not my favourite. The piece with the heavy embellished metals/perspex crystals were way to heavy for my taste and there was a dress that was on Lily Donaldson (someone like her couldn't even pull it off) : it was a weird dress to me with a split down the middle with teal and taupy camel colour fabric stuck together - a little schizophrenic to me. I'm sure many people will be looking out for those amazing shoes and the mini over the shouldered bag/clutch. The heels look like they are made of pythons' skin - I saw python in the men's collection too for F/W 2010, it was a clutch which the shop assistant at Lanvin pointed out to me " These will be perfect for you" and I still can't think of what I can put in them since it was just too small for my laptop and too big to be a wallet, hmmm.. maybe my passports? We'll see...
I can't wait for the H&M X Lanvin collaboration and I am beyond excited about it, I think we will see the preview soon on November 2nd.

James Long Menswear Spring/Summer 2011

Love Love and Love. At London Fashion week, I am loving James Long, consider him added to my favourite list and will definitely be hunting for these next season! I love knits and prints and this James Long's collection was just the perfect combination of both. I am really intrigued by the use of colours and the effective layering. There are plenty of details and patterns everywhere but for me it is not too overpowering or distracting. The painted fabrics were also amazing. Those shorts are to die for. The backpacks were also a very cute touch.
The trends here: Desert boots + chunky socks. Loose fits and chunky knits. Layering of long coats(again!), tees/tanks and shorts. I have a pair of Desert boots in the exact same colour and I love them, got them from Tod's and they are now pretty old but looks even cooler! I cannot wait!
I'm leaving for Paris tomorrow, I'm so excited. I wish you all a very good week end and keep checking back.

Yigal Azrouël Men Spring/Summer 2011

    © by Vogue

Clean-cut, simple, green just like grass. Yigal Azrouël Men(and women) collection was one of the best. I could see myself wearing all of these pieces and I will definitely cash out next Spring! A very interesting mix of light and airy fabric which together bring a sophisticated simplicity that I really respond to. The accents of bright colours were just perfect especially the yellow "ankle warmers" popping out from the sandals. My favourite look was the parka on Charlie Westerberg (second model from the left.) I should start rocking the long coat/ shorts look!
I'm not sure but soon he may become my favourite designer, I women show was also intriguing. Which shows were your favourite?

Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011

    © by ELLE

Mouthwatering, tropical, ravishing, jaw-dropping - those are SOME of the adjectives that could describe Marc Jacobs' explosion of colours at NY fashion week. The atmosphere was mostly fun and very wearable, the very definition of Marc Jacobs. He admitted to being inspired by other designers from previous collections such as the one-shouldered satiny dress from Lanvin, Quilted purse from Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent pouffy blouse, and definitely Missoni chevron knits. (He admitted to it!) It looked new and the clothes had its own personalities.
The one shoulder blouse with the sheer wide trousers in maroon and pink is very Thai, I must say and the oversized orchids was just a representation of a very tropical summer. The play with volume was fantastic, especially the dress Hannah Holman was wearing (In the pink cape on the far right.) The flows of the collection was feminine, delicate and flows from beginning to end. The collection is definitely a stand out for me and is one of my favourite. The model walked around a coppery wave that curved around the stage with big bouffant hair which was inspired by Grace Coddington ( Don't we all lover her).

3.1 Phillip Lim Men SS11

    © by Vogue
Here are my favourites. I love the tan and the nude from this collection. I am a huge fan of outerwear even for summer. These clothes are so accessible. I am digging the preppy school boy vibe since I still am a school boy. I am loving the sheer knitwear on Lasse Pedersen(the red head) and the sport jackets. Everything seem so clean and fresh, very reminiscent of spring. I am also dying over the tan leather shorts! Great styling and very cool for summer. View the rest of the collection on the link above.
